SKIL2 Campus Bridge

// Context & Background

This project was part of the second semester of Skills Integration 2 at Thomas More. Our team developed a full-stack application to guide incoming students, providing information on contacting the school, housing possibilities, biking options, school programs, exchange programs, and more. The goal was to create a comprehensive resource to ease the transition for new students. Working with a diverse team presented challenges in team dynamics, but it was a valuable learning experience.

// My Contributions

I contributed to designing and implementing the database schema using SQL, ensuring efficient data storage for student resources. I also coded significant portions of the application using Laravel and PHP, focusing on the backend logic for housing and program information. Additionally, I worked on the front-end using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an accessible user interface.

// What I Learned

This project enhanced my technical skills in full-stack development, particularly in database management and Laravel. More importantly, I learned valuable soft skills, including teamwork and collaboration with teammates from different cultural backgrounds. Navigating team challenges improved my communication and conflict-resolution abilities, making me a better team player.
